Tidewater Winery is located in the historic Tidal School in Drumright, Oklahoma. The school was built to serve the needs of the growing Drumright community during the big oil boom. Built by John D. Rockefeller for the Tidewater Oil Company in the 1920’s, it is one of just a few reminders of that bygone, booming era in the area and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Tidewater Oil Company (Tydol) was a major player in refining and marketing petroleum products in the United States for more than 80 years. Tidewater built a large refinery in Drumright and the school came soon after to serve the children of Tidewater’s burgeoning workforce.
Tidewater Winery is just a short drive off Route 66, located on Oklahoma Highway 16.
